AVAYAAN'S POV
God knows what I have gotten myself into, and only God knows why he sent this weird girl into my life suddenly.
Like i cannot breathe peacefully when she is around and guess what we are now more lost than earlier cause of her, god knows in which part of the jungle we are in now because we have been running for almost an hour now! wait...how many time i will say God? THIS GIRL IS MAKING ME INSANE.
"can't you keep your trouble to yourself? Why did you drag me into this trouble with yourself!? We don't even have anything to eat with us. We don't have water to drink!, i snapped at her in frustration but all she did was looking down while fidgeting the hem of her top with her fingers.
"i am hungry..."
Is this girl for real? i just said we don't have anything edible with and she? Wow! Just wow...., "for your partially deaf ears madam, i may repeat again that we DON'T have food or water, so HAPPY STARVING", i blurted out in frustration and she pouted perking out her lower lip.
She said, "i know.... but i am hungry and I don't think i am in the mood to celebrate your STARVING FEST with you, so we must find food as soon as possible or I'll faint here then you will have to carry me around-"
"no i am not going to carry you even if you fainted"
"Rude!"
"Thanks madam, you took a really long time to know that"
I turned my back at her scanning our surroundings but all i could see was long trees and bushes, long grass which was padded with the long and small feet of animals.
The bark of the trees scratched by the long nails of animals, and in between these creepy things, soft and melodious chirping of the birds can be heard.
My thoughts were suddenly disturbed by a weird sound, I turned back to look at Avanya, looking down with an embarrassed face, holding her stomach. Ohh, this was the sound of her stomach growling.
"You are really hungry, aren't you?", I said with a smile tugged on the corner of my lips. She looked up with utter frustration and said, "you thought i was joking till now!?".
"ohk ohk hungry lioness let's find something to eat before you eat me instead", i said as we started walking. Where? I dont know.
AVANYA'S POV
This man is weird, first he scolds me and next moment he is making fun of me, but he is right with one thing that i can eat him instead, not out of hunger but Out ANGER, aren't they same?
i looked at him annoyed by him and maybe his presence, he raised his eyebrows at me and i quickly looked in front again as we walked forward.
Suddenly, while walking and kicking small rocks on my was my head snapped to one tree which had apples on it, OH MY LUCK!
I shouted scaring the shit out of the man beside me, "AVAYAAN! LOOK UP LOOK UP!".
He quickly placed his palm on my mouth preventing me from shouting, he slowly whispered near my face, "are you freaking insane? Stop shouting for god's sake or you'll invite more giant animals to share us as their dinner??". And what made you shout suddenly?"
I pointed towards the apple-loaded tree as his hand was still on my mouth, preventing me from speaking, his face lit up, a rare expression from him, as he saw apples on the tree.
He spoke removing his hand from my mouth letting me breath freely now, "for the first time you did something right after meeting me". I rolled my eyes at his statement. Gosh this man can't even praise me properly for once.
I signed and said dramatically closing my eyes , "so i don know how to climb a tree so do whatever you want just bring those app-"
Before i could complete my sentence i felt i round thing in on my palm i opened my eyes and looked on my hand, oh! an apple, wait....AN APPLE. I then looked a him chewing the apple as if just appeared to him out of nowhere, i almost shouted, "HOW ON THE EARTH-"
"shh.... speak slowly"
I lowered my voice a little and said, "How on the earth did you do that!? Did you really pick fruit from the tree by yourself?"
He let out a humourless laugh and said, "no!!! The all-mighty powers felt pity on us and granted us these apples"
"be serious please i am freaking out here"
"yes i picked them"
"But.....HOWWWW!?"
"NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS!!" and guess what i am again left dumbfounded by his straightforward answer. God this man is a complicated mystery.
After eating apples, we moved further. Now, the real task was to find a good spot to sleep because we don't want to sleep somewhere carelessly and find ourselves in any animal's stomach next day.
After walking for what felt like 2000 years we sat under a big tree, tired from walking too much, as we sat down tears of fear filled in my eyes and just then i felt his gaze on me and he asked, "why are you crying?".
I wiped my tears and mumbled loud enough for him to hear, "w-we are stuck here in this jungle because of me, now we can't even sleep because of fear. I am so tired I can't walk. I feel like i am just a bad luck". I felt him scoot closer to me hearing my negative words'
"Its ohk lets stay here and sleep", he said nonchalantly like those animals are his buddied and won't make us their dinner when we sleep, "how can we sleep here? There are wild animals-", he cut my sentence in between and said, "dont worry, just hold onto me when you feel danger approaching, without opening your eyes"
My eyes snapped at him, did he just asked me to hold onto him when i feel scared? , "what? YOU are telling me to hold you when i am scared?". He nodded and closed his eyes leaning against the bark of the tree with peaceful face expression and said, "yes just don't open your eyes and trust me...".
Trust him? Can i trust a man while my eyes are closed, in todays world?
Its not possible for any girl though, but I don't have any other choice so i decided to trust him, i closed my eyes and rested my head on his shoulder slowly and drifted ino sleep.
In middle of my sleep i suddenly heard a loud roar which only a large creature can make, a shiver ran through my spine, i was going to open my eyes but then i remembered his words.
just don't open your eyes and trust me....
I kept my eyes close even Though that loud roar was coming near, I held his arm tightly and snuggled into his side more.
Just then i heard a loud growl almost near my ears and just after that, everything went quiet just a rustling of cold night breeze could be heard and his soft breathing.
And with that i felt his arms wrapping around me making me feel the comfort i might be craving, for the first time in many years i felt safe, with him, yes a man. Guess what i trusted a man with my EYES CLOSED, and nothing wrong happened. Thank god and thanku avyaan too maybe.
